The Boys Season 4 starts production this week in Toronto and we even know the name of the first episode.
The Prime Video adaption of the adult comic series stars Karl Urban, Antony Star, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso and Tomer Capone. The show follows a ragtag group commissioned by the government to secretly keep superhero celebrities in check. They come into constant conflict with Vought Industries the mega conglomerate responsible for creating supes and marketing them to the public.
The Boys has proved a huge hit with Amazon Prime videos with a spinoff Varsity having begun filming in Vancouver earlier this year. Check out below to see the reaction to the early renewal from most of the stars of the show.
We actually know a little about the overarching themes of Season 4 already thanks to showrunner Eric Kripke. He even revealed the name of the first episode of season four.
Speaking to TVline Kripke said:
If Ryan turns into another little sociopathic Homelander, that’s apocalyptic. But on the other hand, if [Billy] Butcher’s able to pull him away from that, then you might have the only person who can actually fight Homelander.
Season three saw the team looking for a weapon capable of dealing with Homelander only to find a dangerously unstable superhero from the Golden Age still alive and kicking. Butcher formed a deal with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) causing the team to fracture badly. They eventually came together to deal with Soldier Boy taking him down before the CIA took him away.
