Percy Jackson and The Olympians is set to premiere on Disney+ this December.
The show which features the late Lance Reddick as Zeus filmed in Vancouver on location and using the Volume stage. A volume stage is a large LED panel on a soundstage that serves as a background to shooting. If you watched watched The Mandalorian or House of the Dragon you’ll have seen it in use. Production built a real life Camp Half-Blood in Aldergrove, British Columbia.
Based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus (Lance Reddick) accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
