The Dufferin Film Festival will return this year to highlight even more Independent Canadian filmmaking.
DFF celebrates film in Canada, showcasing the best from independent films and emerging filmmakers. Through a curated selection of films, educational opportunities, industry forums and networking events, the festival fosters community filmmakers, film enthusiasts and audiences while raising the profile of Canadian talent. This woman-led festival is about celebrating the filmmakers – we will bring the audience, you bring your film.
The festival takes place Orangeville, Ontario. It takes its name from Dufferin County where Orangevillie is located, just outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The event will run from 15 August to 17 August 2025, adding an extra day of content compared to last year.
Venue
Films will be showcased in the Orangeville Opera House, a 273 seat professional theatre that will be decked out into a film theatre for the weekend. Originally built in 1875, the Opera House on the second floor of the Orangeville Town Hall was fully restored in 1993.
You can support the festival financially, check out their crowd-sourcing page here. It offers several options for providing financial support.
