Following the multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed 1st season, Shogun Season 2 has begun production.

The FX show filmed extensively across British Columbia to bring the Edo period of Japan to life.
Adapted from James Clavell’s bestselling 1975 novel, Shōgun is set in feudal Japan. It charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai:

John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai), a woman with invaluable skills but dishonourable family ties who must prove her value and allegiance.
Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo created the series. Justin Marks serves as showrunner.
Location Is Everything

The biggest Shōgun set was feudal Osaka at the closed-down Flavelle sawmill on the Port Moody waterfront. Crew built jetties into the water and fishermen’s houses that wrapped around the inlet. Other locations include Minaty Bay on the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler as the fishing village of Ajiro.
Justin Marks said this to Deadline: Hollywood:
We’re coming out of the writers room now. We’re also done with the 10 episodes, and we have our finale now. That’s allowing us to start figuring out how we’re going to shoot this. But we’re very excited about the plan
The show secured a two season renewal after its incredible debut. Are you looking forward to Shogun Season 2.
