RL Stine the author of the library of children’s horror stories known as Goosebumps:
“Movie News: I can finally announce that a new ‘Fear Street’ movie is about to go into production for Netflix. It’s based on my ‘Fear Street’ book, ‘The Prom Queen.’ Good news!”
Prom Queen
This new film is an adaption of R.L. Stine Fear Street: Prom Queen so check out a synopsis of the book below though things will likely be changed for the screen adaption.
“A spring night…soft moonlight…five beautiful Prom Queen candidates…dancing couples at the Shadyside High prom — these should be the ingredients for romance. But stir in one brutal murder — then another, and another — and the recipe quickly turns to horror,” reads the book description as per Stine’s official website. “Lizzie McVay realizes that someone is murdering the five Prom Queen candidates one by one — and that she may be next on the list! Can she stop the murderer before the dance is over — for good?”
No details on cast but we do know that Matt Palmer will be directing the project. Palmer and Donald McLeary will write the project.
Fear Street: Prom Queen will take place in the 1980s and will have no direct connection to the previous trilogy.
Filming will begin in Toronto on 25 March 2024 and is set to run until 10 May 2024. Where you a fan of the Fear Street Trilogy? Let us know in the comments.
